Network Technician
Location: ONTARIO, OTTAWA

Responsibilities:

This individual’s primary responsibility will be the daily analysis, coordination and execution of maintenance activities relating to the client Network. Maintenance activities are directed towards network performance and data collection/delivery for our service footprint. Maintenance activities include remote and/or on-site repairs, preventive and reactive maintenance.

Requirements of this position include:

• Daily review of system reports for network failures. Prioritize, coordinate, troubleshoot and perform RF maintenance activities as required.
• Work as a part of a 24/7 team on rotating shifts. Perform On-Call duties, when assigned, to support network maintenance during off hours. To include nights, weekends and holidays.
• Maintain a daily maintenance log.
• Perform RF Test Bench repairs/analysis.
• Perform network troubleshooting.
• Perform network optimization.
• Follow and enforce all corporate and local safety standards. Correct and/or report exceptions.
• Maintain assigned equipment to standard/specification.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will have 5 or more years of relevant experience in the telecommunication field – preferably in RF satellite communications, and a Communications or Electronics Technology Diploma. In addition, this person will have experience with high-power amplifiers, LNAs, splitters, combiners, circulators and up/down converters. Must be PC, Mircosoft literate, and have experience with RF test equipment, such as spectrum analyzers, power meters, scaler analyzers, etc… as well as L-Band IF modems, KU and L-Band converters and amps.

For most positions, candidates must meet eligibility requirements for ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulation) Programs.
