Canada’s jobless rate remained at a 32-year low of 6.1 per cent in June, led by continuing strength in Alberta, Statistics Canada reported.
Waterloo Region has bested the national rate, with only 4.8 per cent of the labour force currently jobless. That is down from 5 per cent in May.
“It’s a job-seekers market right now,” said Letts.
He also pointed to the unemployment rate of recent immigrants, which is three times higher than the regular rate.
British Columbia and Manitoba saw unemployment hit record lows in June — 4.3 per cent in B.C. and 3.6 per cent in Manitoba.
Alberta retained the nation’s lowest jobless rate at 3.5 per cent.
Más clarito, hechale agua: Alberta sigue con su boom de trabajo, como se veia venir (ver referencia a un mail de agatineau de hace ya un par de años) Para los recien llegados, estos números no tienen nada que ver con su realidad (y es posta) Waterloo, mientras siga teniendo a RIM, OpenText y las Universidades va a andar bien. Ottawa-Gatineau anda bien por tener el gobierno federal, no más que eso. Y Shebrooke… bueno, es Sherbrooke.
